This Year’s Best Bollywood Movies

Before 2018 draws to a close, make sure you catch these highlights.

1. Badhaai Ho

This dramatic comedy is centered around Nakul, who’s played by Ayushmann Khurana. When Nakul’s middle-aged mother unexpectedly becomes pregnant, his life is turned upside-down.

Knowing that his parents still have an active sex life brings him endless embarrassment. To make matters worse, there’s no shortage of criticism and social pressures, with neighbors constantly gossiping and asking questions.

The film deals with this controversial subject in a progressive way, sending a message that romance should never be limited by age.

You can stream it for free on Khatrimaza.

2. Andhadhun

If you’re looking for something that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Andhadhun is for you.

This is yet another hit from Ayushmann Khurana. Here, he plays a man named Nakash who has witnessed the aftermath of a murder. However, there’s just one small problem – he’s blind.

Andhadhun’s plot is full of twists and turns that keep you guessing. As the movie goes on, you begin to wonder if there is more to Nakash than meets the eye.

3. Stree

Stree is a light-hearted combination of comedy and horror, which revives an urban legend from the ’90s.

It begins with Vicky, a talented fashion designer with an eye for detail and a knack for speed. His focus changes from fashion to romance when he meets an unnamed woman played by Shraddha Kapoor, who you may remember from Haider. Shes’ only in the village for the four days of the Puja festival, but that was more than enough time for him to fall for her.

The love story takes a dark turn when a man is mysteriously abducted. Locals believe he was taken by Stree, a spirit who comes to the village for the same four days every year. They become suspicious of Vicky’s new girlfriend, and together they embark on a mission to dispel the evil spirit.

4. Tumbbad

Tumbbad is a psychological horror movie set in the village in Maharashtra of the same name.

The story begins in the 1920s when a family builds a temple for a spirit named Hastar, who grants wealth to those who worship him. However, the spirit has a dark side and also evokes curses.

As the story goes on, greed takes over the family and they become the real monsters.
